StockFit support
Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.
StockFit is made by a small independent studio. Email reaches the people who wrote the app. We read every message and aim to reply within two business days.
The basics
What do I need to run StockFit?
An iPhone running iOS 18 or later. It also runs on iPad. There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no internet connection required — the app works fully offline, including on a plane or in a basement gym with no signal.
Do I need to create an account?
No. StockFit has no accounts, no email sign-up and no login. You open the app and start logging. Everything is keyed to the device rather than to an identity.
What are the "stocks" and "ETFs"? Is this real trading?
No — nothing in StockFit is a real financial product, and no money is involved anywhere. It is a way of visualising your own training. Each tracked lift gets a ticker (BENCH, SQUAT, DEAD) whose "price" is your estimated one-rep max for that lift, muscle groups roll up into basket "ETFs" like PUSH and LEGS, and all of it sums into a single Strength Index. The numbers are arithmetic on the sets you logged, presented in market clothing because a portfolio is a genuinely good way to see whether your training is moving.
Is StockFit medical or fitness advice?
No. It is a tracker and a motivational visualization. Its estimates, projections, "analyst estimates", recovery indicators and allocation verdicts are calculated from numbers you typed in, and it knows nothing about your sleep, nutrition, injuries or how you feel today. Talk to a qualified professional before starting a new program, and disregard anything the app shows when the two disagree. The full disclaimer is in the Terms of Use.
Your data
Where is my workout data stored?
On your iPhone, in the app's own database. It is not uploaded, not backed up to our servers — we do not run any — and not shared with anyone. There is no analytics SDK, no ad network and no tracking of any kind in the app.
Does StockFit sync to iCloud or to my other devices?
Not today. Your history lives on the device you logged it on. If you back your iPhone up to iCloud or to a computer, StockFit's data is included in that backup, so restoring a new iPhone from it brings your history along. Deleting the app deletes its data, so back up your phone if the history matters to you.
Does StockFit write to Apple Health?
Not today. StockFit does not read from or write to Apple Health, and it asks for no HealthKit permissions. If that changes in a future update it will be an opt-in setting and the Privacy Policy will be updated before it ships.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Profile ▸ Export lets you export a single workout or your entire history as a CSV file, one row per set. The file is generated on your device and handed to the standard iOS share sheet, so it goes only where you send it.
How do I delete my data, or request deletion?
Deleting a routine, workout or custom exercise moves it to Profile ▸ Recently Deleted, where you can restore it or remove it permanently. Deleting the app removes everything it stored, with one deliberate exception: a single date recording that the free trial was used stays in the iOS keychain so the trial cannot be reset by reinstalling. That record is a date and nothing else — no identifier, no personal information, and it is never transmitted. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing on our side to delete, but you are welcome to email us and we will confirm that in writing.
StockFit+ and billing
How do I manage or cancel StockFit+?
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, then choose StockFit. You can switch plans or cancel there. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
What does StockFit+ cost?
$4.99 per month or $29.99 per year, in US dollars. Apple sets the exact equivalent in other storefronts, and the price shown in the App Store at purchase is the one that applies. Both plans renew automatically until cancelled.
How does the free trial work?
New installs get a one-time 7-day trial of StockFit+ that is granted by the app itself, not through the App Store. It takes no payment method, creates no subscription, charges nothing and converts to nothing — there is literally nothing to cancel. When it ends the app returns to the free tier with your data untouched; routines beyond the free limit are locked rather than deleted. Subscribing during the trial starts billing immediately and forfeits the rest of it.
I want a refund.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — we never see your payment details and cannot issue one. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find the purchase and request a refund. If Apple declines and you think something is genuinely wrong with the app, email us and we will help however we can.
I restored my purchase but StockFit+ is still locked.
Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account that bought the subscription, then use Restore Purchases on the StockFit+ screen. If it still does not unlock, email us with the Apple Account region and the approximate purchase date and we will work through it with you.
What is free, and what needs StockFit+?
Free covers unlimited workout history, unlimited logging, the exercise library, the rest timer, the Strength Index, cardio, CSV export and the app themes. StockFit+ adds the full portfolio of lift stocks and muscle-group baskets, next-session estimates and post-workout earnings verdicts, allocation and rotation analysis, custom baskets, unlimited routines, per-exercise progress charts, the muscle heatmap, the lifetime training calendar, routine sharing, the warm-up and plate calculators, and the custom accent color.
Notifications, timers and the Lock Screen
My rest timer notifications are not arriving.
StockFit needs notification permission to alert you when a rest period ends while you are out of the app. Check Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ StockFit and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Profile shows a warning row when permission is missing, and tapping it takes you straight to the right Settings screen. In-app, the timer also plays a sound over your music, which requires the Ring/Silent switch not be set to silent.
Why do rest notifications pile up in Notification Centre?
That is deliberate. Each finished rest period posts its own notification and they stay until you clear them, so a set you rested through is still visible when you pick the phone back up rather than being silently replaced.
The Live Activity is not showing on my Lock Screen.
Check Settings ▸ StockFit ▸ Live Activities is enabled, and Settings ▸ Face ID & Passcode ▸ Live Activities if your Lock Screen is locked down. During a workout the card shows elapsed duration and the rest countdown; when rest hits zero it turns green to prompt the next set, and tapping it opens straight back into the workout.
Can I turn off the motivational nudges?
They are off unless you switch them on, and they live in Profile ▸ Notifications. When enabled they are capped at four per week and only between 8am and 9pm. Rest-timer alerts are separate and controlled by the timer itself.
Something is wrong
The app is slow, frozen or crashing.
Force-quit and reopen first: swipe up from the bottom of the screen, hold, then swipe StockFit away. If it persists, check for an app update in the App Store, and restart the iPhone. If it still happens, email us using the button above with your iPhone model, iOS version, the app version from Profile ▸ About, and what you were doing when it happened — that combination is usually enough for us to find it.
A number looks wrong.
Tell us which screen and which number, with a screenshot if you can. Two things account for most surprises: warm-up sets are deliberately excluded from one-rep-max estimates, and a "stock" only tracks one canonical exercise, so an incline dumbbell press does not move the bench ticker. If it is neither of those, we want to know.
I lost my workout history.
Data lives only on the device, so the usual causes are deleting and reinstalling the app, or moving to a new iPhone without restoring from a backup. If you have an iCloud or computer backup from before the loss, restoring the device from it brings StockFit's history back. We cannot recover data on our side because we never had a copy.
I have a feature request.
Send it. StockFit is built by one small studio and requests from people actually using it in a gym carry real weight in what gets built next.
Does StockFit respect Reduce Motion?
Yes. With Reduce Motion on in iOS accessibility settings, the ticker tape and the app's transitions settle down accordingly.
Still stuck?
Email contact@summerlabs.dev with your iPhone model, your iOS version and the app version from Profile ▸ About. If it is a privacy or data question, the Privacy Policy answers most of them in detail, and the Terms of Use cover the subscription.
